Just days after this young mother and wife completed her first round of chemotherapy treatments at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Atlanta she was back onstage in Tennessee singing selections from their just released CD, “Hymns That Are Important to Us,” with her husband and songwriter, Rory, of the music duo “Joey + Rory.” A Gaither Production video hosted by Bill Gaither, a personal friend from Joey’s hometown, has been produced with Joey and Rory sharing how God has walked with them every step of the way through their most difficult time, and includes Joey singing such timeless classics as “I’ll Fly Away,” “I Need Thee Every Hour,” “How Great Thou Art,” “It is Well With My Soul,” among others. Within days of the taping in October 2015 Joey was told there was nothing more that could be done, her cancer was not responding to treatment. Joey passed from this life into the presence of her Savior on March 4, 2016.

Joey truly was an inspiration to all right up until she breathed her last. Her works do follow her and will for many years to come.
