How To Receive a Free Gift

Who doesn’t like to receive a free gift. Walking through a store offers are made to try a sample of new products on the market either by another human being or a machine dispensing the goods. The highlight of any shopping trip is to be offered something free. But in order to enjoy the free gift one must accept and receive the free gift from the hands of the one who is offering it or the vending machine making the gift accessible. Likewise, God offers each individual His free gift of salvation. He possesses it; it is not yours until you receive it.

In Ephesians 2:8-9 God clearly states His salvation is free, “it is the gift of God.” He tells us no amount of good behavior or good works can earn His gift; it is not of yourselvesnot of works, lest any man should boast.” It is “By grace are ye saved through faith… it is the gift of God.” His unmerited favor and peace with Him is freely offered, not anything we ourselves do to earn it. His gift of salvation is free to us but it cost Him His Son, coming to die for us in our place on the cross for the remission of sin. The Scriptures reveal in Hebrews 9:22 without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin for anyone.

God’s gift is offered to each and every one, has been paid for by the death of His One and Only Begotten Son who obtained victory over death by His Resurrection, and now awaits all those who will receive His free gift from His hands by calling “upon the name of the Lord to be saved” (Romans 10:13). He will not force His gift upon anyone; each must willingly receive it and believe it, “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation,” (Romans 10:10).

Just as any gift is not truly yours until you receive it and it is in your possession, receive God’s gift of salvation from Him this Christmas and He will give you abundantly more than you ever thought possible or imagined… including most importantly, Eternal Life with Him in Heaven (John 3:16; Ephesians 3:20).

Living Under a Strong Delusion, Believing Lies

The Apostle John wrote of the spirit of antichrist in I John 4 declaring, “Ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.” John wrote those words around A.D. 90, almost two millennia ago. The spirit of antichrist has been at work in this world as revealed by recorded history, seeming to grow stronger year after year, day after day. As the end of Satan’s rule on earth comes to an abrupt conclusion written of in the Book of Revelation, the spirit of antichrist’s desperation increases in the last days until his final battle with God Who will destroy him with the Word of His mouth.

The world today is full of the spirit of antichrist as described by John, every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist.” Just as those who have received the Spirit of God through His Son are God’s Children, those who have the spirit of antichrist are the children of Satan. While speaking in the Temple at Jerusalem Jesus said of their father in John 8:44, “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

The Apostle Paul wrote to the believers at the church in Thessalonica in modern-day Greece, “That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.” He told them, “Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan… with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.” Paul further warned, “That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” (II Thessalonians 2)

As the Coming of Christ looms nearer and nearer with each passing day, the spirit of antichrist is revealing his true nature as never before. He knows his time is short and his end is near. As the spirit of antichrist grows more desperate before his final demise, the Apostle John gives these encouraging words to all true believers in the Lord Jesus Christ in I John 4:4 to keep in their hearts and minds, “Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.”

“Even so, come, Lord Jesus”

Why Do the Heathen Rage?

Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?

The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against His anointed,

Saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.

HE that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the LORD shall have them in derision.

Then shall He speak unto them in His wrath, and vex them in His sore displeasure.

Psalm 2:1-5
