New Every Morning

In the Garden of Eden God told Adam & Eve if they ate the fruit of the forbidden tree they would die. They ate but did not die. Why not? They suffered severe consequences for their sin but continued to live outside the Garden and began to populate the earth. Why did God not immediately strike them down for their disobedience to Him?

With their first bite sin entered the world, and death by sin, so that sin passed upon all men (Romans 5:12). We are told in Scripture the payment for sin is death. As with Adam & Eve our first sin should result in our demise because of God’s Holiness and His Justice, but it doesn’t. We are permitted to continue to live until physical death overtakes us as it did them. Why does God allow us to survive when His command in the Garden was so clear?

It is because of the Lord’s MERCIES we are Not Consumed immediately!
HIS Compassions Fail Not… they are New Every Morning.
GREAT is HIS Faithfulness!
(Lamentations 3:22-23)

He has every right to destroy us when we sin but He doesn’t. He is longsuffering with us and loves us SO MUCH He is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance before it is eternally too late. When we awake in the morning each new day is a gift given to us by God to provide us opportunity to seek His forgiveness and come into a right relationship with Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. The payment for sin was paid upon Calvary’s cross by the death of the Savior. It is only through the shed blood of Christ remission of sin is provided and everlasting life granted when we willingly surrender our lives to Him.
